The office of the Directorate of Public Prosecution (ODPP) has commissioned its regional office building in Arua City.

The behind schedule office building costing over sh500m was commissioned on March 10, 2025, after the works stalled for over two years.

While officiating the commissioning of the magnificent structure, ODPP permanent secretary, Agnes Kainza Nzogi, acknowledged the delay and said they were shifting to change the contractor to have the works completed.

She commended the then Arua district council for availing land for the construction of the office while appealing for more land for constructing accommodation for the staff of the resident state attorney (RSA) and ODPP.

Richard Ruhereza, the regional DPP for West Nile, said having their own office will help serve the community better since it is strategically positioned, urging the aggrieved litigants to report all cases of unprofessionalism among their staff to the office.

Arua city mayor, Sam Wadri Nyakua, lauded ODPP and RSA in the city for the good working relationship and co-ordination with the city leadership.

Salim Kumakech, the Arua Resident City Commissioner said the collective efforts by all stakeholders including professionalism in the Office of the DPP has led to significant reduction of crimes in the city and region in general.
