Planning for an introduction or wedding ceremony, right up to the honeymoon can be hectic. However, couples who are planning for these functions need not to worry because there is always a way out.

Irene Chozen Akellot, the Client Relations Manager at Oyster Safaris and Production, one of the exhibitors at the Bride and Groom Expo 2023 at the UMA Multipurpose Hall, says their company has offers that can help intending brides and grooms navigate through the challenging financial stress.

While exhibiting their services at the expo, they assured visitors to their stall of an opportunity for three lucky couples winning free-fully sponsored videography and photography for their introduction, free-sponsored wedding videography and photography or a fully-sponsored honeymoon.

“The winners will have first visited our stall at the Bride and Groom Expo, registered in our visitors’ book and left their contacts there. We are going to have a raffle draw at the end of the expo where the winners will be announced to come for their offers,” Akellot said.

Oyster Safaris had three different boxes for whatever category visitors who were interested in would submit to stand a chance to win in the raffle draw.

“For couples who win in the introduction and wedding offers should state the date, month and place where the function is going to take place between the months of July and December this year, so that we can present our offer to them,” Akellot said.

She added that those to win the honeymoon offer should have wedded officially in church or mosque and should present a marriage certificate for confirmation.

Some of the sponsored offers included two days and one night at Oyster Brovard Sand Lodge in Sesse Islands.

Victoria Forest Resort

For couples who would love a honeymoon away from rowdy and noisy places, Victoria Forest Resort Ssesse Islands in Kalangala is the best place to be.

Overlooking Lake Victoria, it offers couples the romantic experience of a lifetime. Doreen Hazel Nyangoma, the marketing manager at the resort says they have relaxing and inspiring holiday packages to enjoy.

“If a couple chooses to have their honeymoon at the resort, the package offered starts right from the city centre. We ask a couple to tell us a place which is convenient for them, where we pick them up and take them to board a ferry. This ferry will then take them to the island. Couples who chose Victoria Resort as their honeymoon destination during the Bride &Groom Expo will get a full board three nights and four days’ offer at a cost of sh1,5m,” Nyangoma says.

She adds that in addition to the full board offer of the three nights and four days, the package has a romantic candlelight dinner, campfire, swimming, bottle of wine, breath-taking forest walk, a gift basket and welcome juice.

The couple is also taken to a fishing treat where they get fresh fish that is prepared for them, visit villages around the resort and enjoy the fresh breath in Kalangala.

Nyangoma also says Victoria Resort also offers a wedding package which of a wedding venue that includes ushers, security, food, tables and chairs. The decoration is not included in this package, though, so the couple must plan for their decoration.

She further notes that a couple which has their wedding at the resort have a fully-sponsored bed and breakfast for two nights.

“For a couple with two children, they are catered for, however, one that has more than two children must pay an additional fee,” she says.

Victoria Forest Resort Ssese Islands Kalangala was one of the exhibitors in the Bride and Groom Expo 2023 which ran from June 23-25 at UMA Multipurpose Hall and was organised by Vision Group.
