Vision Group and Rotary District 9213 have renewed their partnership to roll out joint initiatives aimed at improving the lives of communities in Uganda.
The commitment was made during a meeting between Vision Group Chief Executive Officer Don Wanyama and Rotary District 9213 Governor (2025–2026) Geoffrey Martin Kitakule, held at Vision Group’s Kampala headquarters on Wednesday, August 13, 2025.
The two leaders, accompanied by senior officials from their organisations, agreed to coordinate campaigns in thematic areas rather than run fragmented initiatives, with the aim of delivering measurable community impact.
Wanyama said Vision Group, a leading multimedia company with a dominant presence in print, broadcast, and digital media, also offers courier services, outdoor advertising, and an in-house advertising agency.

“When an organisation wants its message to reach the public, Vision Group can deliver. Sixty percent of Ugandans consuming media are doing it through us,” he noted.
He highlighted Vision Group’s Newspapers in Education project, which uses newspapers as a learning tool to improve academic performance in disadvantaged schools. “For schools that join the programme, results improve significantly,” he added.

Kitakule, who began his career as a systems analyst at Vision Group, praised the company’s growth and continued public service. He said Rotary clubs in Uganda have a combined membership of 1,000 professionals and are capable of partnering with Vision Group to promote peacebuilding, disease prevention, maternal and child health, literacy, economic development, and environmental protection.

He noted that past collaborations have included blood donation drives and the Cancer Run. He added that they are now embarking on building a trauma centre along Masaka Road to address high accident rates. Rotary’s theme for 2025–2026, ‘Unite for Good’, calls for members to strengthen connections, innovate, and tackle local and global challenges together.

The head of marketing and communications at Vision Group, Lorraine Tukahirwa, said stronger engagement with Vision Group could help create greater awareness about Rotary’s work and inspire more people to give back to society.
Hope Nuwagaba, the head of sales at Vision Group, said that in line with the company’s corporate social responsibility pillars, they can work together to deliver services for youth and women, while supporting initiatives in education and environmental protection.
Kitakule was accompanied by Rotary District 9213 lieutenant governor Joe Nuwamanya. Rotary District 9213, which covers Uganda and parts of Tanzania, comprises 140 clubs and 5,000 members in Uganda alone.
