Various heads of state arrive in Uganda ahead of Museveni's swearing-in ceremony

The Presidents include H.E Brahim Ghali of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, H.E Taye Atske Selassie of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and H.E Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Various Heads of State have today arrived in Uganda ahead of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni's swearing-in ceremony slated for Tuesday 12th May, 2026 at Kololo Independence Grounds.

The Presidents include H.E Brahim Ghali of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, H.E Taye Atske Selassie of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and H.E Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Other leaders who are already in Uganda for the ceremony include the Vice President of Zimbabwe, Dr Constantino Chiwenga and the Prime Minister of Equatorial Guinea, H.E. Manuel Osa Nsue Nsua.

At Entebbe International Airport, the leaders were welcomed by various Uganda government officials, such as Ministers and high-ranking security officers.

The President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), H.E. Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, was received by the Special Envoy to the President of Uganda, John Patrick Amama Mbabazi.



The Vice President of Zimbabwe, H.E Gen (Rtd) Dr Constantino Guveya Dominic Nyikadzino Chiwenga, was received by the Democratic Party President and Minister for Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Nobert Mao.

The President of Ethiopia, Taye Atske Selassie Amde, was received by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Development, Ruth Nankabirwa

The President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, H.E. Brahim Ghali, was received by the Minister of State of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives, Gen. Wilson Mbasu Mbadi.

The Prime Minister of Equatorial Guinea, Manuel Osa Nsue Nsua, was received by the Commander of the Reserve Force of the Uganda Peoples' Defence Forces (UPDF), Lieutenant General Charles Otema Awany.
