Avance Media, an African PR & rating firm has unveiled its annual list of the 100 most influential young Africans of 2023.

The eighth edition list is populated by names representing social, economic and political spheres of society from digital contents creators, singers, media personalities to activists and entrepreneurs. 

Uganda has five personalities on the list: sensational online content creator Moses Kiboneka alias Uncle Mo (89); climate activist Vanessa Nakate (90); Reach A Hand’s Humphrey Nabimanya (38); media personality Canary Mugume (20); and Chipper Cash co-founder Ham Serunjogi (36).

According to Avance, the list is arranged in alphabetical order. 

Some of the honourees took to social media to celebrate their recognition. 
Nabimanya wrote: “I’m grateful for the recognition by @avancemedia. It’s a testament to our relentless pursuit of providing comprehensive SRHR information to Uganda’s young people that has lead me and my team of @reachahand here. With dedication and teamwork at @reachahand, we’re steadily advancing towards our vision. Let’s continue pushing for excellence as we strive for even greater impact.”

Canary wrote: “Grateful to be ranked among the 100 most influential young Africans alongside Burnaboy, Mo Salah, Burkina Faso’s President Ibrahim Traore, among others.”
