Believers in Christ have been encouraged to use their lives to serve God through righteous deeds in their communities, such as attending prayer events.
The message was delivered by Rev. Fr. William Besiige from Mpasana Catholic Parish during the New Year's Mass at Christ the King Kisiita proposed Parish in Kisiita Town Council, Kakumiro District.
Rev. Besiige also urges Christians to support the Catholic Church by providing financial assistance where needed and emphasizes the importance of reducing domestic violence.
In his New Year message, Rev. Can Godfrey Buuro, the Archdeacon of Kisiita Archdeaconry in Bunyoro Kitara Diocese, called on politicians to cease conflicts and focus on serving the people to enhance democracy in Uganda.
He encourages individuals to plant high-value crops like cabbages, onions, watermelons, and coffee to increase their household income.
At Kyentale Faith Church, Rev. Geoffrey Kagurusi, the National Coordinator for Born Again Churches, urges the community to embrace government programs such as the Parish Development Model (PDM) and Emyooga as strategies to eliminate poverty.
He decried rampant corruption tendencies in Uganda saying even in churches some church leaders are corrupt.
