The Boys U-19 team's tour of India is going well after they secured their second win as they continue to boost their match readiness ahead of the World Cup Qualifiers set for Tanzania in July.
They defeated Sai Cricket Academy who had won the toss and elected to bat but were given a dose of some good bowling from Uganda.
They were bowled out for 90 and Joseph Baguma was the pick of the bunch taking 6/27. Baguma's experience showed in the match and his performance was very much all about finishing off the opponents. Ali Balidawa also shone with his 3/16 capping off a good first innings for Uganda.
The chase was exhilarating as Uganda made quick work of their opponents scoring 92/2 and Gerald Olipa was in top form with the bat. He scored 50 not out while Ronald Omara scored 23.
Baguma one of the stars of Uganda's last World Cup Campaign continued from where he left in the opening match against Paramveer Cricket Academy taking three wickets and scoring 47 runs on the way to a man of the match performance.
"We are trying to get used to the basics. India has similar conditions to Tanzania and we are trying to ensure that we can qualify," said Baguma.
The young star has made major improvements to his bowling which has paid dividends. In India, with the qualifiers in Tanzania on the Horizon he needs to come big.
"I've been trying to bowl all my variations so that I can use them during the qualifiers, " explained Baguma.
Acclimatizing to the conditions in India hasn't been easy but so far so good for the boys.
The team will rest on Thursday but play again on Friday.
