Uganda on track to produce first oil by end of 2025
To meet its 2025 target, Government is planning to fast-track and finalise the formulation and conclusion of the National Petroleum Policy which is expected to create a conducive environment for faster and efficient exploration, development, production, and commercialization of discovered resources and utilization of petroleum products.
The Ministry of Finance outlook report for 2024/25 Financial Year indicates that a total of 11 oil wells have been drilled (8 in Tilenga, 3 in Kingfisher area) with capacity to produce 190,000 barrels and 40,000 barrels of oil per day respectively. (File photo)
