The Uganda-Algeria Business Forum and Trade Exhibition is set for the 30th of September at Hotel Africana in Kampala city.

According to officials from the Ministry of Trade Industry and Cooperatives (MTIC), the Algerian Chamber of Commerce will sign an agreement with the Uganda National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UNCCI) for a joint business council.

The events in Kampala are the latest in efforts to boost relationships following President Museveni’s visit to Algeria in March. His working trip to Algiers was aimed at creating strong trade ties between the two countries.

According to the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Trade, Geraldine Ssali, the Algeria team is composed of about 150 Algerian business persons from oil and gas, renewable energy and agricultural sectors among others.
