Two people died in a fatal accident along Hoima-Kampala Road in Kayera village, Kinogozi parish, Buhanika sub-county in Hoima district.

Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Police Spokesperson identified the deceased as Robert Kunihira, 38, a boda boda rider and resident of Bwikya Kinubi in Hoima city and Isaac Twinamaiso, 20. 

Hakiza said the rider who had carried Twinamaiso and a juvenile on a motorcycle registration UER 806 H Bajaj Boxer was coming from Kampala.

He revealed that while reaching in Kayera village, Kunihira wanted to overtake another motorcycle but instead knocked the edge of the road, and fell in the middle of the road prompting a speeding vehicle (Toyota Registration UAF 369 R) to knock them.

The two died on the spot while the juvenile sustained injuries.

"The deceased's bodies were taken to Hoima Regional Hospital mortuary for postmortem and the juvenile was rushed to the same hospital for medical attention," he said.

Hakiza attributed the accident to reckless driving.
