Authorities at the Toro Babies Home in Fort Portal have run out of food to keep the facility running.
Betty Kemigisa, the Matron Toro Babies Home said because of the ongoing lockdown and restriction on movement, local and international donors have cut funding to the institution.

She, therefore, appealed to well-wishers to donate food relief to the facility to help it keep running.

The home mainly uses tinned and fresh milk, eggs, porridge among others to feed the children, but due to the lockdown, some items have been foregone.

The 51-year-old facility is the only Babies home in the entire Rwenzori region.

The facility according to Kemigisa, currently hosts a total of 53 babies most of whom lost their parents during birth, some were abandoned while others are victims of child negligence.
