KAMPALA - Several teachers on Monday, January 16, 2026, met for the annual Teachers Making A Difference workshop at Kololo Secondary School in Kampala.
The workshop brought together close to 50 Alumni.
The workshop came days before the Teachers Making A Difference Awards Ceremony, which will take place on Wednesday (March 18).
It will be hosted by the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Museveni, at State House, Entebbe.

Italina Logwe, Head teacher Naitakwae Primary school in Moroto district (centre), was recognised in 2020, and Safia Maua (L), a teacher at Kasimeri Primary School in Moroto district, was recognised in 2024.

Margaret Kajumba of the Special Needs Unit at St. John's Yerya Primary School in Bunyangabu district. She was awarded in 2024. Kajumba also heads the special needs unit at St. John's Yerya Primary School.

Mary Goretti Apolot (SR) formally of Nameng Girls Primary School in Budaka, but currently at Parisa Girls Primary School. She was recognised in 2018.

Anthony Lochugae (Rtd), teacher from DingDinga Primary school in Amudat district. He was awarded in 2023.

Susan Okello, the Head teacher Kotido Mixed Primary school. She was recognised in 2020.

Joel Mukose, Head teacher, Namagonjo Primary School in Bugiri district. He was recognised in 2023.

Ratib Atiku, Head teacher, Aringa Secondary School in Yumbe district. He was recognised in 2024.

Joyce Achan Oryema, retired head teacher, Gulu Public Primary School. She was recognised in 2018 (by then, she was in Pakwelo primary school in Gulu district)

Jilda Aweko of Nyapea Boys Primary School in Zombo district. She was recognised in 2022.

Edward Bukye, Head teacher, Nakalama Primary School in Iganga District. He was recognised in 2023.
Godfrey Owiny Arims, Head teacher Lomorimor Primary School in Nakapiripirit district. He was the overall best teacher in 2017 (Teachers Making A Difference).

Evelyn Apalat of Osia Primary School in Tororo District. She was recognised in 2022.

Brother Deodati Aganyira, the former head teacher, St. Mary's College, Kisubi. He was recognised in 2018.

Biira Nabukwasi of Nkoma Primary School. She was recognised in 2023.

Catherine Nabwire, Head teacher of Busia Integrated Primary School. She was recognised in 2018 and 2023, respectively.
Grace Olive Nabuduwa Musingo, formally of Ngora Girls Secondary school. She is now retired but was recognised in 2023.
Lilly Lakot of Paiula Primary School, in Pader District. She was recognised in 2023.
