The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) personnel attached to the Fourth Division Barracks in Gulu City have launched a series of community outreach activities ahead of the 45th Tarehe Sita celebrations in Mbale city.
In partnership with the Uganda Police Force, led by Aswa West regional Police commander Fred Ahimbisbwe, the Ugandan army on December 14, 2025, conducted a city-wide cleanup exercise, targeting key public spaces.
Areas cleaned included Gulu Main Market, Olayo-Ilong market and Gulu Regional Referral Hospital.
As part of the outreach, the UPDF also organised a free medical camp at Pece Primary School in Laroo–Pece division.
Fourth Division Commander Maj. Gen. Felix Busizoori said the decision to shift the Tarehe Sita celebrations from February to December was influenced by the national electoral calendar.
