Supreme court awards sh3.2b to retired UPDF officer

The award arises from a contract in which Okullo was hired by the Government to provide medical services to the late Lt. Col. Angelo Okello, the ex-Uganda People’s Democratic Movement/ Army (UPDM/A) leader. UPDM/A was the first armed opposition to President Yoweri Museveni’s government.

The Chief Justice (Pictured) thus awarded sh500m in general damages to Okullo and $790,262 (about sh2.7b) in liquidated damages.
