St. Cyprian High School immortalises Archbishop Lwanga

The celebrations started with a thanksgiving mass presided over by the Archbishop of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Kampala, His Grace Paul Ssemogerere.

St. Cyprian High School Kyabakadde is now a silver jubilee institution. It celebrated its 25th anniversary with a colourful function that took place at the school (in Kyampisi sub-county, Mukono District) on Thursday (September 28, 2023).

The celebrations started with a thanksgiving mass presided over by the Archbishop of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Kampala, His Grace Paul Ssemogerere.

Several other Catholic clerics, including the Vicar General of Lugazi diocese, Msgr. Richard Kayondo, the Vicar General of Kampala Archdiocese Msgr. Charles Kasibante, the Vicar General of Kasana-Luweero, Msgr. Francis Xavier Mpanga also concelebrated the mass.

As one of the highlights of the function, Archbishop Ssemogerere unveiled the monumental statue of the late Archbishop Dr Cyprian Kizito Lwanga, the school’s founder and patron who died on April 3, 2021.

Ssemogerere also commissioned and blessed a magnificent multi-purpose building that was named after Archbishop Lwanga. Ssemogerere also launched a foundation started by the members of Archbishop Lwanga’s family to continue the legacy and noble intentions of the deceased Prelate.
