After days of insightful discussions at the Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth (CSPOC), speakers and other delegates decided to wind it down with a full blown blast at Ndere Cultural Centre, Kampala, on Friday evening, January 5.

It was such a colourful party that had delegates immerse themselves in Uganda’s diverse culture through music, dance, fashion and cuisines on offer on the evening.

To show that evening was more focused on putting Uganda’s different cultures on show, each delegate received a refreshment served in traditional calabash on arrival by Ndere Cultural Centre founder, Stephen Rwangyezi. It was dubbed the Cultural Guard of Honour before ushering them in with a brilliant dance form.

And then Ndere Troupe mesmerised the audience with their Kiganda dance, a spectacle of athleticism and grace that showcased the vibrant artistic traditions of the Baganda people.

At the show, Rwangyezi was delighted to host the delegates after-party and said, “It was so humbling to perform for the speaker Hon. Anitah Among together with her deputy Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa along with Speakers and Presiding Officers from different Commonwealth countries.

The evening offered a unique opportunity for distinguished guests from across the Commonwealth to immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of Uganda's heritage.

The event at Ndere Cultural Centre marked a memorable end to the #CSPOC2024 conference, offering a unique platform for cultural exchange and fostering stronger connections between Commonwealth nations. It was a fun-filled evening.
