Kampala socialite Brian Kirumira, popularly known as Bryan White, and his wife, Naava Nakato, return to Makindye Chief Magistrates’ Court today, December 18, 2025, over the death of 25-year-old Caroline Nalubwama.
The duo is jointly charged with housewife Daisy Nalunga, advocacy officer Daphine Abaho and Joyce Irene Nambalirwa, an administrator at Mukyala Mabirizi Nursing Home.
They are battling charges of manslaughter, human sacrifice, rash and negligent acts, possession of marijuana and giving false information to the police. The charge of manslaughter carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment, while human sacrifice is punishable by death.
The accused will appear before Chief Magistrate Sarah Basemera to know the status of investigations into their case.
Prosecution alleges that between October 22 and 27, 2025, at Kyamula Zone in Makindye division, the accused killed Nalubwama in a ritual linked to witchcraft. It is further alleged that Nalubwama was burned after her body was massaged with a mixture of petrol and ghee while candle wax was set on fire.
Prosecutors allege that Bryan White unlawfully caused Nalubwama’s death by burning and failed to take precautions while handling combustible materials.
It is also purported that the accused misled police by falsely claiming that Nalubwama sustained accidental burns and was admitted to Kiruddu Hospital, whereas she had been burnt and taken to Mabirizi Nursing Home.
