You can attract weaver birds, grey plantain eaters, vermiculated owls, harrier hawks, hadada ibis, yellow shouldered parrots, kingfishers and kestrels in your compound. All those and more are beautiful birds that can fill your home with sweet melodies.

Mariah Kiwagama, an interior designer and landscaper says, birds are easy to attract. Just ensure to put in place friendly landscaping and if they come, care for them. This way, they will find home in your compound.

Firstly, create a bird feeding station with ground and hanging feeders. Here, the birds will get food, water, and shelter. Place them in different corners. Food can include cereals, nuts, processed grain like maize bran and rice. Others love chicken feeds, silver fish, sea shells and fruits.

Meanwhile, keep the feeders clean because birds avoid dirty places. 

Birds also love to bathe and nest. For that, put in place a bird bath that will lure them to bathe, play and drink water. Also, ensure to have trees or hanging plants where they can nest.
