KOBOKO - Leaders in Koboko district have challenged the security team, particularly the Police and community, to be vigilant and provide security to the new ambulance received from the Ministry of Health.
The call followed attempted theft and sale of an ambulance at Arua Hospital.
The Arua ambulance is said to have been recovered in DR Congo, but the buyer demanded more money than what it cost, complicating its return.
Koboko district received a “type B” ambulance, stocked with 40 facilities, including oxygen, which qualifies it to handle emergency cases under the new referral system.
Dr Norbert Kaggwa, a senior medical superintendent at Koboko Hospital, promised that the ambulance will be properly handled.
