KASESE - The Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu (OBR) will Saturday, October 19, 2024, celebrate its 58th anniversary since its breakaway from the great Toro Kingdom but the 15th after being recognized by the government.

The function will be held at Kilembe Mines golf course situated in the Basecamp cell of Bulembya Division Kasese Municipality with President Yoweri Museveni expected to preside over the function as the Chief guest.

Speaking to the New Vision online, Benson Kule Baritazale, the deputy prime minister OBR Kingdom revealed that the" rebranded" institution continues to lean on five pillars including peace, unity, reconciliation, mindset change and social-economic transformation.

"All this is to create a harmonious living with all the people dwelling in the kingdom but also foster collective development," Benson said.

Lt. Joe Walusimbi the Residents District Commissioner (RDC) Kasese said that the district is completely secure and that their personnel including Uganda Police, and Uganda People's Defense Forces (UPDF), among other security agencies, are alert and on standby to ensure the safety of the people as well as ensuring the success of the function.
