Born-Again Churches presiding apostle Dr Joseph Sserwadda has appealed to Ugandans to refrain from provocative words and actions that will create enmity among themselves during this political season.
“This years’ Christmas came in the time of heightened political activities, including campaigns; such moments are not merely for celebrations but for reflection on who we are and the nation we desire to be," Sserwadda says.

In a message during the service at Victory Christian Church, Ndeeba in Kampala city, Sserwadda said hope can be born even in difficult times; peace remains possible even when opinions differ, and above all, wisdom and responsibility must guide us when emotions are strong.
The apostle added that Ugandans must reject violence, enmity, misinformation and provocation as we observe Christmas, which reminds us of our commitment to peace and mutual respect since peace is not weakness.
He told the youth not to be used to destroy what the generation before you worked hard to build, but to use their voices wisely and their influence constructively. Your role is not to destroy but to secure the future, as Christmas calls us to be builders on an instrument of anger and division.
He urged all leaders to lead with maturity and respect of laws enshrined in our authorities, which were exercised fairly professionally without prejudice, since the strength of the nation is measured by how life is protected, dignity and unity, especially when it is tested.
He told Christians that wise men invest in the future instead of looting the present and they stop being consumers of their present for future investments.
