MUKONO - The Police say they have successfully recovered Mukono municipality-based Uganda Christian University student, Nathan Tuwandike, 25, who had earlier been reported missing.
Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, today, March 3, 2026, said Tuwandike was recovered following a tip-off from members of the public who saw him roaming in Mukono town.
"On March 2, 2026, at about 2:00pm, Police received information from members of the public that the victim had been seen roaming around Mukono town. Officers immediately responded and were able to locate and safely recover him," Owoyesigyire said.
He revealed that Tuwandike is currently in safe custody as further assessments are being conducted.
"We thank the members of the public for their vigilance and cooperation, which greatly contributed to this positive outcome," Owoyesigyire added.
Police promised to share further details on the matter in due course.
On Saturday, February 28, 2026, Police said they were investigating the disappearance of Tuwandike.
"He was last seen on February 25, 2026, in Mukono town. He left behind his phone and personal belongings at his hostel. We appeal to anyone with information about his whereabouts to report to the nearest police station or contact Mukono Police Station immediately on 0783748109," Owoyesigyire stated.
