Police probe three hit-and-run cases in Kampala, Wakiso

In Naluvule, Wakiso district, police say a male adult was found unconscious and bleeding from suspected crash-related injuries at around 9:00am on Saturday, July 19.

Police in the Kampala Metropolitan Area are investigating a series of hit-and-run incidents that left three people severely injured in separate cases across Wakiso and Kampala districts over the weekend.

In Naluvule, Wakiso district, police say a male adult was found unconscious and bleeding from suspected crash-related injuries at around 9:00am on Saturday, July 19.

The victim, believed to have been struck by an unknown speeding vehicle, was rescued by officers aboard Police patrol car UP 9420. He was rushed to Mulago National Referral Hospital for treatment.

Later that evening, at 7:50pm, another hit-and-run victim was discovered in Kitubulu, Katabi Town Council, Entebbe Division.

Officers aboard patrol vehicle UP 00202 responded and evacuated the injured person to Entebbe Grade B Hospital for emergency care.

Earlier that same day, at 12:10am in Makindye-Katwe, Kampala, yet another unidentified victim of a hit-and-run incident was found and rescued.

The victim was also taken to Mulago Hospital.

Police are appealing to witnesses and motorists in the respective areas to provide any information that could help identify the vehicles and individuals responsible for these accidents.
