Police arrest four suspects over guest house murder

According to Twiinamazima, “preliminary findings reveal that at 7:15 am Sunday morning,  James Mutebi, the manager of New Style Guest House, reported for duty only to discover the lifeless body of an unknown male adult near the bar, bearing a deep cut on the neck.”

In a tragic incident that unfolded at the New Style Guest House/Bar in Kasoma Zone, Luwero Town Council, Luwero District, the territorial Police is actively investigating a case of murder by cutting that occurred Sunday, January 28.

The Savannah Region Police spokesperson, Sam Twiinamazima, has identified the victims as Vincent Ssemata, a 28-year-old and the son of Corporal Fiikil Ssekate who is attached to Luwero Central Police Station.

Until his demise, Ssemata resided in Kanyogoga village in Luwero District.

According to Twiinamazima, “preliminary findings reveal that at 7:15 am Sunday morning,  James Mutebi, the manager of New Style Guest House, reported for duty only to discover the lifeless body of an unknown male adult near the bar, bearing a deep cut on the neck.”

Swiftly, Mutebi informed the Police about the grim discovery.

“Upon receiving the distress call, the police responded promptly, registering a case of murder by cutting,” Twiinamazima said.

The scene of the crime was thoroughly examined and documented by the Scene of Crime Officers (SOCO) and the Homicide Squad from Luwero Central Police Station.

He added that:  To aid in the investigation, a police dog was introduced to the scene, resulting in the apprehension of four suspects. Statements were recorded from pertinent witnesses, and the deceased's body was transported to Luwero Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination.
