WAKISO - The Prime Minister, Robinah Nabbanja, has broken the ground for the construction works of five roads in Kampala and neighboring districts.
They are Kisubi—Nakawuka—Nateete, Nakawuka—Kasanje—Mpigi, Nakawuka—Mawagulu—Nanziga-Maya, Kasanje—Buwaya and Entebbe—Nakiwogo road.
Totalling 72.5km, the roads upon completion will improve connectivity between Kampala, Wakiso, and Mpigi districts.
Nabbanja, who represented President Yoweri Museveni at the groundbreaking ceremony at Nakawuka Trading Centre in Kajjansi Town Council Wednesday, said that infrastructure development is one of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) leading priorities, which she said the Government takes seriously.
The Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA), using funding from the Government of Uganda, is implementing the project, contracted to China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) Uganda Limited.
