PLU members hold reconciliation meeting

KAMPALA - Members of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) convened a reconciliation meeting aimed at resolving internal disagreements and strengthening unity within the movement.

The meeting was chaired by the Vice Chairman, Michael Nuwagira, popularly known as Toyota and was held at the organisation’s offices in Naguru, Kampala.

During the discussions, members addressed several issues affecting the movement, particularly the dispute surrounding the Central Executive Committee (CEC).

While addressing the members, Nuwagira advised them on ways to overcome the current challenges facing the organisation and emphasised the importance of unity.

"Refrain from attacking or insulting one another on social media, especially in relation to disagreements involving the CEC," advised Nuwagira.

He noted that PLU is still a young movement and should avoid internal conflicts that could undermine its growth, further encouraging members to intensify mobilisation efforts by bringing more people into the movement so that it can remain strong and focused on its objectives.

Nuwagira also called upon members who have been involved in insults and disagreements to forgive one another and continue working together for the progress of the movement.

He stressed the importance of patience as PLU continues to work toward achieving its long-term political goals.

Additionally, he advised members to guide one another constructively whenever mistakes are made, rather than resorting to insults, emphasising that no individual is perfect.

In his remarks, Nuwagira underscored the need for the movement to remain united over the next five years so that its leader, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, can achieve political success.
