Pictorial: Thousands joined the joint way of the cross in Gulu City

The 9.4km procession began at 7am from St. Joseph’s Cathedral and ended at St. Phillip's Cathedral at around 2pm.

Thousands of Christians from the Anglican, Catholic and Orthodox faiths Friday (April 18, 2025) joined the joint way of the cross in Gulu City.

The 9.4km procession began at 7am from St. Joseph’s Cathedral and ended at St. Phillip's Cathedral at around 2pm.

Fourteen stations were designated, and in each, selected clerics and other preachers delivered their messages to the faithful who braved the long distance and hot sunshine to mark Good Friday.

Fictitious Jesus and all the other characters, as in the bible, held to tell the story of Jesus’ tribulation through the drama they acted.

Nelson Onono Onweng, the Bishop emeritus of the Diocese of Northern Uganda, and Johnson Baptist Odama, the Archbishop emeritus of Gulu Archdiocese, joined the walk, feeble as they are.
