Oxfam launces book written by refugees

Oxfam Uganda has launched a book entitled, No time to mourn.

The book which was launched on Friday aims at commemorating the 16 days of activism against gender-based violence.

 Oxfam has a collection of memories, stories, poems, and artwork by a group of 41 female refugees who were affected by the conflicts in South Sudan,

Oxfam supported the book as part of its peace-building initiatives in partnership with FERMITE –Uganda.

Monica Anibuwe, one of the writers noted that it is very painful to narrate these stories because it reminds them of the old memories of what happened.

"It is very hard indeed most of our parents were tortured and killed as we were watching," she said.
