The dream of a modern jubilee office block for Madi-West Nile Diocese is one step closer to reality after a spirited fundraising drive at Emmanuel Cathedral Mvara raised over sh150 million.

Guest of honour, the Archbishop of the Congo Georges Ande Titre, praised the project, telling the congregation, "Before, people used to build down, but now we are going upwards, and the power of God is creating us. If it is from God, it will succeed."

He expressed excitement about the construction plans, saying the new office block would give the diocese a more modern identity.

Richard Anguyo, chairperson of the jubilee office construction committee, revealed that Bishop Charles Collins Andaku had set a fundraising target of sh800 million during a meeting in December 2024. The first phase, however, managed to collect sh150 million.

Anguyo assured the congregation that more fundraising events would follow to ensure the office block reaches an advanced completion stage.

Bishop Charles Collins Andaku of Madi-West Nile Diocese thanked the attendees for their generosity.

He explained that during a visit to Aru, DRC, he was inspired by the structured office block with storage facilities and proposed a similar project for Madi-West Nile Diocese, which was later endorsed by the synod.
