Orthodox Christians and all Ugandans have been asked to promote peace, love and justice as a practical gesture of appreciating and keeping the legacy of Archbishop Jonah Lwanga, the former Orthodox Metropolitan of the Holy Metropolis of Kampala and all Uganda who died a couple of years ago.

The invocation was made by the Orthodox Bishop of Gulu and all of Northern Uganda, the Rt. Rev. Nectarios Kabuye. 

He was delivering his remarks during the Divine Liturgy for the commemoration of the second anniversary of Metropolitan Lwanga’s death at St. Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral, Namungoona, in Rubaga Division on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.

The Divine Liturgy at 8:00am was presided over by the reigning Orthodox Archbishop, His Éminence Jeronymos Muzeeyi. 

The function was also graced by the area politicians and cultural leaders from the Kingdom of Buganda.
