NYEGE NYEGE MUSIC FESTIVAL 2022 🎶🥁🎷
All roads are leading to Itanda Falls in Uganda's eastern tourism city of Jinja this weekend, where revellers are gathering and pitching camp for this year's edition of the Nyege Nyege Music Festival.
The festival has raked in plenty of reviews at home and beyond, with some describing it as a "genuine, experiential African utopian" and an event that "stands for peace, love, joy and pushing boundaries".
Patrons always look forward to a huge dose of entertaiment as well as plenty of interaction and merry-making. The four-day event opened on Thursday and will run until Sunday. Take a look at pictures from day two (Friday): 👇🏽

Security is as ramped up as you can see at this makeshift gate.

Nyege Nyege Festival means one thing for some: Business time!

"Heere we areeeeee! Yipeee!"
They have arrived in style - laden with backpacks and each armed with a bottle of the beloved frothy delight.

Your eyes should expect to feast on a kaleidoscope of colours and a wide spectrum of fashion - from head down to the toes.

The festival draws people from all walks of life, some even flying in to have a taste of Ugandan fun.

Plenty of interactions. A meeting point of friends, colleagues, name it.

Yep......told you!

Security is tight.

Yep....security is indeed tight.

Coffee, anyone?

Or
katogo, maybe?

Maybe you prefer the grilled thighs, huh? You would be spoiled for choice.
Your palate is sorted.

Soggy ground? Who cares? The interactions more than make up for what the elements have turned the surface into.

The shoe choices are varied . . .

. . . as are the outfits and hairstyles.

Tightmarking is allowed.

A: "Should we move to that side? I hear some interesting music."B: "Uhm...not a bad idea at all!"
Sweltering heat? Who cares?

"OK, be still and I spruce up your face."
Coupling goals at Itanda.

This, here, is a hub of people who know a thing or two about having fun.

Like her . . .

The good news is that the weather's mood changed - as did that of the revellers.

The 'couriers' of the frothy delight are focused on the delivery mission.

If you have ever solved - or tried solving - a jigsaw puzzle, here is an easy one for you . . .

A: "I surrender!"B: "Nti ayagala ebyenda?"
C: "Nange sibitegedde ... Er....Pardon, sir!"
