It was a joyful occasion for Muslims in Bunyenye village, Butambala district, as a new community mosque was officially commissioned on Sunday during their celebration of Eid al-Adha.
Previously, the Muslims had to trek long distances to observe prayers.

Musa Lule Ssajjabi, also known as MC Moseh, a Ugandan based in London, UK, funded the construction of the modern Masjid Ahamada Ssajjabi mosque.
This mosque is expected to accommodate more than 2,500 Muslims during prayers and includes a medical centre to assist the faithful and needy in the community.
Ssajjabi, who hails from Bunyenye, also donated several cows that were slaughtered for the Eid celebrations. He noted that constructing a mosque for the community and unveiling it on Eid is the perfect gift he can give to his people.

Sheikh Sayyid Ssejjengo, who presided over the Eid al-Adha prayers at the new mosque, urged Muslims to make good use of the mosque by praying there to strengthen their faith and embrace development.
Sheikh Sayyid encouraged Muslims to prioritise sacrificing for the work of Allah over material possessions, emphasising the importance of charity and the spirit of sacrifice exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.
