MV Kalangala, the vessel that plies the Lutoboka-Nakiwogo route on Lake Victoria, changed its schedule for three days, starting today (Friday).

The vessel has been departing Lutoboka every day at 8 am for a one-round return journey starting from Nakiwogo at 7 am.

The schedule change has been a result of an increase in the number of security teams in the district for President Yoweri Museveni's visit.

MV Kalangala will have to transport the security teams' vehicles from Entebbe to Kalangala.

“Since Katonga bridge collapsed, all presidential guard cars will be using the vessel thus leading to the change in schedule,” said Conley Mujwahuzi, MV Kalangala's captain.

The vessel usually changes schedules during the holiday season, when several tourists storm island beaches for leisure.

It returned to Entebbe-Nakiwogo Thursday evening, from where it was to depart at 7 a.m. today (Friday).
