Museveni in Soroti to discuss Teso cattle compensation

President Yoweri Museveni is in Soroti in Teso sub-region, to engage different leaders on the progress of cattle compensation.

At the meeting, the deputy Attorney General Jackson Kafusi was set to give a status report on the cattle compensation.

Recently, various Teso leaders expressed dissatisfaction with the payment process for would-be beneficiaries.

There are 33,664 claimants that the ministry verified for compensation. However, many are complaining that they have not yet been compensated.

Kafuzi earlier on Friday said that the ministry has paid 11,056 claimants a total sum of 65 billion shillings.

Altogether in the three regions, Kafuzi said they have paid 158 billion shillings.
