Mufti re-election dispute heads to Court of Appeal

The appellants seek a court declaration that Mubaje was not eligible for re-election under the amended 2022 UMSC constitution, which they claim bars anyone above 70 years or who has served more than 10 years in office from seeking re-election. 

Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, who turned 70 and has served as Mufti since 2000, has already exceeded those limits.
