Zimbabwean Islamic inspirational speaker Mufti Ismail Menk has encouraged the youth to work hard. He made the remarks during a successful interactive session at the Kampala Serena Hotel on Saturday, March 9, where Muslims and non Muslims turned up in large numbers.

This was his third visit to Uganda.  The theme for his visit this time around was Muslim Youth And Work Ethic (Striking Balance Between Success And Religious Commitment).

"I want to congratulate the youth who have made proper use of social media by creating beneficial content, which is helping them to earn a living and also being disciplined in how to use internet and what to use it for," Menk stated.

He encouraged people to love themselves, live in harmony and also work hard.

Businessman Hamis Kiggundu and women's activist Kulthum Nabunya were some of the prominent persoanalities that attended the session.

In his speech at the convention, Kiggundu encouraged Ugandans to do charity.

"What makes me unique from others is giving because when Allah blesses you with His wealth, you have to be a blessing for those who don't have. A person who gives receives more from God," he added.

Kiggundu said said one of the things he asks for from God to wisdom.

"Wisdom gives a person the ability to reason and understand the world for what it is because it would take someone time to understand the existence of God. I believe if God grants us wisdom, He has given us the world and everything in it," he added.

On March 8, Mufti Menk earlier held a talk at Makerere Freedom Grounds in Kampala. Born and raised in Zimbabwe, Menk is known for advocating for humanity. His lectures have made him one of the most sought after Islamic scholars in recent times. Menk won the KSBEA2015 Award for Social Guidance in the UAE.
