Mpuuga in Luzira to visit MPs Ssegirinya, Ssewanyana

Ssegirinya and his colleague Allan Ssewanyana were on Monday denied bail by Masaka High Court, to seek specialized medical care, after alleged torture while in custody.

The Leader of Opposition in Parliament  (LOP) Mathis Mpuuga is in Luzira Prison to visit MP Muhammed Ssegirinya.

From Luzira, Mpuuga will according to Sadab Kitata, the Senior Press Secretary leader of Opposition, proceed to Kigo Prisons, to visit MP Allan Ssewanyana,  who is equally sick.

"The LOP is scheduled to visit Hon Ssegirinya and Hon Ssewanyana at Luzira and  Kigo prisons respectively," Sadaba said.

On Tuesday,  Francis Zaake , the MP Mityana Municipality told Parliament that Ssegirinya had been removed from Kigo Prison and taken to Mulago National Referral Hospital for specialized treatment.

He was later removed from Mulago to Luzira, where he is according to prison authorities being managed.

Ssegirinya and his colleague Allan Ssewanyana were on Monday denied bail by Masaka High Court, to seek specialized medical care, after alleged torture while in custody.

The two, are facing seven counts, four of murder, attempted murder, terrorism, aiding and abetting terrorism, all arising out of their alleged participation in the recent spate of killings of 26 people in Masaka sub region.
