Lawyer Matovu concedes to facing trial in sh4b coop cash case

Matovu, 62, a practising lawyer attached to Matovu and Matovu Advocates, is battling charges of theft by agent together with city lawyer Fred Makada, attached to Makada and Makada Advocates. The court has since issued a warrant of arrest against Makada.

Senior lawyer John Matovu has formally withdrawn all applications seeking a stay of his criminal trial, opting instead to face the charges slapped against him by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP). (New Vision/Files)
