Lands ministry secures land for regional office in Gulu

Gulu district has donated four acres to the lands ministry to build its regional offices.
Gulu district chairperson Christopher Opiyo Ateker says the land is located in Awach town council near the district headquarters and that the donation follows a request by the ministry.
According to Ateker, the district executive committee (DEC) and council has already approved the issuance of the land.
He was speaking on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at the Gulu District Council Hall in Gulu city during a two-day training on land management institutions and issuance of certificate of customary land ownership.
Meanwhile, Prof. Jack Nyeko Pen-Mogi, the Acting chairperson of the Uganda Land Commission, who hailed the district for the donation, said the Government has injected shillings 200 million to help people in Acholi region to get certificate of their customary land.
