Kitgum worshipers seek sh106m to construct church

Parishioners of St. Augustine Church of Uganda under Kitgum Diocese are seeking sh106m for the construction of the church.

The fundraising drive which will be officially launched on Saturday, aims to raise both money and items in kind like cement, iron sheets, nails and timber, among others for the construction of the church located in Lira Kato Parish, Lira Kato Sub–County in Agago District.

Agago District Woman MP, Beatrice Akello Akori, who doubles as the Minister of State for Economic Monitoring in the Office of the President, as well as Hillary Onek, the Minister of Disaster Preparedness and Relief, are expected to grace the event.

Initially, the parishioners of the Church used to congregate in a small store within Lira Kato trading center, according to reports from the church leaders.
