Kenya braces for power cuts in Nairobi, Busia, Mombasa plus three more counties

Kenya Power main supplier has announced that several areas across five counties will experience power cuts on Thursday, July 18.

The utility company said the planned power interruptions will take effect this (Thursday) morning between 9am and 5 pm.

Counties to be affected are Nairobi, Kiambu, Busia, Mombasa and Kilifi, according to Kenya's The Star.

Nairobi

Parts of Nairobi to be affected are: Komarock Road, Sakina Petrol Station, Councilor Opundo Road, Dandora Phase 5, Ushirika Primary, Kinyago Primary and Gitari Marigu.

Kiambu

Areas in Kiambu include Guango, Nguruwe, Little Sisters, Guango, Clifftop, Kigwaru Inn, Royal Brains, Ruaka S/Centre, Slaughter and Kanungu.

Busia

Parts of Busia put on alert are Akichelesit, Kakapel, Angurai Market, Katakwa, Aboloi, Kamunyele, Rwatama, Kakurikit, Kasinge, Adanya and Katoitoi Primary.

Mombasa

Parts of Mombasa affected by the Thursday blackout are Shimo la Tewa High School, Mama Ngina Girls High School, Flamingo Hotel and Prison Staff Quarters.

Kilifi

Parts of Kilifi to experience power interruption include Kiwandani Dispensary, NCPB, Mkoroshoni, Msufini, Koroshoni, Pwani University, Fumbini, Konjora and Cashewnuts.
