Twenty one of the students that lost their lives in the gruesome attack on Mpondwe Lhubiriha Senior Secondary School were on Sunday laid to rest at their respective homes.

However, one of the burials was postponed after family members realised that the body they had taken for burial was not that of their loved one. The bodies of 17 victims that were burnt beyond recognition were taken to Fort Portal for DNA tests to establish their identities.

Godfrey Kabbyanga, the State Minister for ICT and National Guidance, who was the chief mourner at one of the burials, urged mourners not to live in fear.
The Busongora South MP made the appeal in Kajwenge ward, Kisinga Town Council in Kasese district, at the home of 90-yr-old Bosco Masereka Bikongoro, who lost three granddaughters in the attack that occurred on the night of Friday, June 16.
He assured mourners that the government has deployed security personnel across the border and in Kasese district at large for the safety and peace of the people.
Kabbyanga appealed to them to be extra conscious about new people that enter their localities, but also volunteer information concerning wrong elements to enable the government to deal with them accordingly.
He further advised the people not to leave their homes in fear of ADF.
