Another motor accident was reported at the Karuma Bridge in Nwoya district on Friday, April 26.

Reports indicate that a lorry Fuso registration number UBH 404 L coming from Kampala and heading to Arua lost control and overturned just five meters after crossing the Karuma bridge.

The truck was loaded with merchandise.

The driver of the truck identified as Richard Serwanja died on the spot while his turnboy, Isaac Nangoli, survived. 

According to an eyewitness from the army manning the bridge, the incident occurred at around 6:15 am on Friday, April 26.

He said they saw the truck suddenly overturning.

However, according to Nangoli, all was fine with the truck, but on passing the bridge, the driver tried to change gears and failed before the truck eventually overturned.

By press time, a team of security personnel were still struggling to remove the deceased’s body from the truck.
