The Judiciary Permanent secretary Dr. Pius Bigirimana has explained that his book on sex is meant to unravel the mysteries of human sexuality and the magic hidden with African traditions.
Bigirimana gave the explanation during the launch of his new book titled a small book of big quotes at High Court in Kampala on Monday (October 2, 2023).
The new book is a collection of thoughts, insights and experiences using quotes from his six earlier works.
"There has been a lot of feedback about my sex book which was launched last month but as I wrote this book, I reflected on the interconnectedness of our bodies and spirits," Bigirimana said.
He noted that the main message in the book is that sex should be seen as a system of intimacy that incorporates emotional, spiritual, physical and a bonding act.
"I didn't write this book as a scholar but as a parent. It's for those who are married and those aspiring to get married so that they respect the institution of marriage," Bigirimana said.
Bigirimana revealed while his sex book has just been launched, it has already impacted on marriages.
"I have already received confessions about this book and someone told me that it has worked some miracles for him," Bigirimana said.
On his journey as an author, Bigirimana said it has been one of exploration, discovery and a relentless pursuit of truth.
So, far, Bigirimana has authored six books and according to him, each of these books represents a chapter in his life, an explanation of ideas and a commitment to making a positive impact on the world.
The books include naked truth, corruption, a tale of wolves in Sheep's Clothing, from tears to cheers, abundance mentality, unchained and the corona lockdown chronicles.

Giving an insight on his seventh book of a small book of big quotes, Bigirimana said the selected quotes represent the essence of all his books.
"These quotes are just a glimpse into the rich tapestry of ideas and experiences that I have poured into these pages. Each book is a reflection of my passion for knowledge, my commitment to truth and my desire to contribute positively to society," Bigirimana noted.
Presiding over the launch of the book, the Principal Judge Dr Flavian Zeija commended Bigirimana for sparing time to write about important matters in the country, such as corruption among others.
"Your journey as an author has been characterised by depth, diversity and a relentless pursuit of truth. Your books delve into a myriad of topics from African traditions to governance, resilience in post-conflict regions, the power of mindset and the fusion of public and private sector thinking.
These themes are not merely abstract concepts but are woven into the fabric of our lives, culture and society," he noted.
With a number of Ugandans embracing writing books, Zeija said it is high time they are quoted in public speeches rather than solely relying on the voices of Western writers.
"Local writers bring a rich tapestry of diverse perspectives to the forefront. Their experiences and insights are shaped by the very communities, cultures and landscape that we inhabit. When we quote our local writers, we embrace the multiplicity of voices that reflect our world," Zeija noted.
Encouraging the Ugandans to write books, Zeija said local writers play a vital role in preserving the cultural heritage of a given society.
"Quoting local writers in the global arena contributes to a more balanced and inclusive dialogue. It acknowledges that wisdom, insights and thought leadership are not confined to one region but are found throughout the world," Zeija said.
Commenting on the sex book, which has since sparked public debate, Zeija saluted Bigirimana for the courage saying,"writing about things which other people can't is not easy. You have actually inspired me to write and I am going to embark on it."
Reviewing the book, Ronald Nabimanya said Bigirimana is not only a brilliant writer, but an exceptional human being.
