Christians have been urged to maintain discipline and actively participate in Holy Week activities as the Lent season draws to a close.
The call was made by the dean of Christ’s Cathedral Bugembe, the Very Rev. Can Dr Joy Mukisa Isabirye, during Palm Sunday prayers at the cathedral in Jinja City, Northern Division.
As they embark on Holy Week ahead of celebrating Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection, Isabirye implored Christians to remain prayerful.

Known for carrying heavy loads, Ekadu said donkeys symbolise how Jesus carried people’s burdens by dying for their sins.
“People despised this animal, including kings, but Jesus rode on it, and he was welcomed by cheering crowds laying cloaks and palm branches shouting Hosanna and recognising him as the Messiah,” he said.
He said the donkey was humble and gentle like Jesus and urged Christians to accept Jesus to ride in their hearts because they are God’s temple.
“Jesus wants to ride in you, wants you to be satisfied, you should live as if he died yesterday, resurrected this morning and coming today, he urged.
