Inside UCC crackdown on unethical online media platforms

UCC estimates that more than 150 online-only publishing websites have been opened in Uganda in the last 5 years.

The Uganda Communication Commission (UCC) has embarked on a nationwide crackdown against what it is calling unscrupulous and immoral online media houses. The move, according to UCC is aimed at securing Ugandans from scammers hiding behind journalism.
