India’s external affairs minister Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar is expected in Uganda for a two-day official visit starting April 10, 2023.

Jaishankar is expected to hold talks with Uganda’s foreign affairs minister Gen. Jeje Odongo, among other ministers.

A statement released by Indian High Commission in Uganda consular Dileep Kumar said Jaishankar would also inaugurate the transit campus of the National Forensic Science University (NFSU) in Jinja city. NFSU was set up following a bilateral memorandum of understanding between the governments of India and Uganda.

Jaishankar is also expected to participate in the breaking of the ground ceremony of a solar-powered water supply project in Uganda, to also address the trade and business community of Uganda and have an interaction with the Indian diaspora.

His visit to Uganda is expected to further strengthen India’s bilateral relations with Uganda. At the conclusion of the visit to Uganda, Jaishankar will then head to Mozambique.
