The second phase of the Community Justice Programme was officially launched in Kampala earlier today (March 4, 2026), marking a renewed commitment to strengthening accessible, responsive and people-centred justice in Uganda.
The launch ceremony was held at the residence of the Ambassador of Sweden and officiated by the Chief Justice, Dr Flavian Zeija. The programme, funded by the Government of Sweden, seeks to enhance access to justice, particularly for vulnerable and underserved communities across the country. The event was witnessed by the Minister for Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Norbert Mao; the Ambassador of Sweden to Uganda, H.E. Maria Håkansson; and the Country Manager of the International Development Law Organisation (IDLO), Barbara Kilei, among other dignitaries.
