KAMPALA - Susan Lamunu Shereni, Head of Finance and Administration, Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) was announced the overall winner during the 6th edition of the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) gala dinner held at Kampala Serena hotel on Thursday (October 27).
She is also the winner of the sustainability award.

According to Godfrey Byekwaso, Chief Judge, the awards were based on the required quality nominations organized by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Uganda in partnership with Deloitte Uganda.
The awards are aimed at recognizing the role that CFOs and finance functions play within organisations, highlighting good business and finance practices while raising the profile of this strategic role.

“I am super excited to be recognized as the overall CFO in the country. This is so amazing, been doing this job for 10 years now and finally, I am here. I intend to inspire young aspiring CFOs to do their best because once you give in your whole nothing can be impossible,” Lamunu said.
Among other CFOs who received awards were; Andrew Ssekamwa, Chief Finance Officer (CFO), I&M Bank Uganda, Aman Moses, Chief Finance Officer (CFO), Hima Cement Limited, Richard Byarugaba, Executive Director, Finance, Bank of Uganda and Maj Julius Katanaka, Head of Finance, Wazalendo Sacco.
