KAMPALA - The Inspector General of Police, Abas Byakagaba, is set to launch the Annual Crime Report for 2025 today, Monday (March 30) at Police Headquarters in Naguru, Kampala, in an event expected to provide a comprehensive picture of the country’s security landscape.
The development comes just days after his deputy, James Ocaya, told a parliamentary committee that Uganda registered a notable decline in crime in 2025, with overall cases dropping by 10.3 percent, despite isolated incidents of violent crime reported during the year.
By Monday morning, several directors, senior police officers, and officials from various government agencies had already arrived at the Naguru-based headquarters ahead of the official release of the report.
